HUG 2005 Highlights

4th Annual HUG Conference "takes it to a new level!"
Over 75 halFILE Users came to the Riverwalk in San Antonio for the HUG 2005 User Conference on October 12-14. Held  at the beautiful Hilton Palacio Del Rio the attendees were treated to a series of presentations and training sessions.

On Thursday morning, HUGites got a preview of some of the great features coming in halFILE 3.0 as well as a presentation by Mark Storey of Extract Systems on OCR recognition technology for automated indexing. Awards were also presented, recognizing outstanding halFILE users.

The morning session was finished by wonderful presentations by Chris Broekema of Colorado Record Data and Sandy McCarver of Southern National Bank.

The Thursday afternoon sessions were highlighted by a panel discussion of Title Plant/Closed File posting consisting of Steve Elak (Security Title-Woodland Park), Denise Goss (Fairbanks Title) and Chris Hoegh (Marion County Abstract).

Thursday night was completed with a excellent dinner at the Rio Rio restaurant.

Friday sessions offered some in depth training on a variety of subjects from Indexing and Searching to Crystal Reports and underutilized halFILE features. Doug Bello led a discussion of off-shore data entry and Christopher Smith demonstrated how to recover halFILE databases following a crash.
